Can Blog & Collections Replace WordPress Posts?

I'm considering making FluentCommunity the main platform for my website, kuhudak.com, instead of using the traditional WordPress setup.

Currently, my community runs at /community, while my main website uses regular WordPress posts. However, after trying the Blog & Collections extension, I really like how smoothly it displays content without requiring a full page reload.

I'd love to use this approach for my entire website, but I have a few questions:

  1. Can Blog & Collections replace the default WordPress blog? I'd like to make FluentCommunity the main website and use Blog & Collections to display all my travel articles and guides.
  2. SEO and Google indexing: Is it possible to prevent Google from indexing my regular WordPress posts while allowing the articles published through Blog & Collections to be indexed and ranked in Google Search? Ideally, I want to maintain a clean URL structure and avoid duplicate content issues.
  3. Performance: My current WordPress posts take longer to load, partly because I rely on Elementor Pro and several other plugins to create an attractive layout. In contrast, Blog & Collections feels much faster and loads content without a full page reload. I'd love to simplify my setup and reduce the number of plugins I need.
  4. Future possibilities: Would it be possible to use FluentCommunity as the primary website while retaining WordPress as the backend, with Blog & Collections handling the entire content publishing and browsing experience?

My website focuses on travel guides, destinations, travel stories, and practical travel information. A fast, seamless, and SEO-friendly content experience is essential for me.

My ultimate goal is to replace the traditional WordPress frontend with FluentCommunity, use Blog & Collections to present my travel content, and have those articles properly indexed by Google—all without the overhead of a heavy WordPress setup.

Is this achievable with the current version of Blog & Collections, or would it require additional customization?

I'd really appreciate your thoughts and recommendations. Thank you for developing such a promising extension!

The "Blog & Collection" extension will never replace the WordPress editor, as the latter is highly efficient and sits at the very core of WordPress. "Blog & Collection" is simply designed to complement it.

SEO & GEO features are planned for the next update.
However, it will be up to you to decide what you want to optimize for search engines—you will still have your standard WordPress posts, after all.
You will inevitably end up with two different URL structures; that is a choice you’ll have to make. There are excellent SEO plugins available—such as SEOPress, Yoast, Rank Math, or other similar tools—that already perform a fantastic job even in their free versions.

I strongly advise against using Elementor or any other page builder for creating blog posts. They might be acceptable for static pages, but not for posts. I recommend using Gutenberg, which is truly excellent.

As for the rest, I can’t share any more details just yet—some exciting things are on the way, and I wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise! In any case, the WordPress back-office will always exist, though that doesn’t mean you’ll need to be logged into it all the time—only when absolutely necessary.

In fact, you can already accomplish a great deal without ever needing to access the back-office; it’s quite possible that you simply aren’t using the right tools. WordPress, in its core form, is already very capable. Often, people look to add new plugins to improve things, when the functionality is actually already built into WordPress. If you do need to install plugins for content creation, I’d suggest using those from Fluent and Sdravobiz 😃—that will be more than enough for 95% of use cases.

See you

Dragan Stamenkovic Thank you for the detailed explanation! 😃

I understand your point, and I agree that Gutenberg is a better choice than Elementor for creating regular blog posts.

My long-term goal is to make FluentCommunity the primary frontend of my website, and use Blog & Collections to present my travel guides and articles with a fast, seamless browsing experience.

I have one important question regarding the upcoming SEO & GEO features:

Will Blog & Collections support individual SEO metadata, canonical URLs, schema markup, and control over Google indexing for each article? Ideally, I'd like to have my articles indexed through Blog & Collections without having duplicate or unnecessary URLs from standard WordPress posts appearing in Google Search.

I believe this could open up exciting possibilities for content-focused websites like mine, where performance and a seamless community experience are just as important as SEO.

I'm looking forward to seeing what's coming next. Keep up the excellent work!

Arif Yes, it’s planned. You’ll be able to choose which version Google indexes: the WordPress post or the community one.

Wasn’t Page builder (your new plugin) there to create pages without using WP backend?
