Bug in Events?: Paid Events Show No Price and Skip Checkout When Logged In

Hi Dragan,

I noticed a bug in the Events extension when registering for a paid event while logged in:

  • No price is displayed on the event page, including events with two pricing options.
  • Clicking “I’m in” immediately confirms my spot instead of taking me to checkout.
  • The confirmation email does not mention the price or that payment is still required. Only clicking a link in the email takes me to checkout.

When logged out, the price is displayed correctly and the registration flow takes me directly to payment.

For logged-in users, the price should also be clearly visible, and clicking the registration button should immediately start checkout rather than confirm a booking before payment.

I’ve attached two screenshots showing the logged-in and logged-out views.

Could you please look into this?

If you are logged in as an administrator it is normal

Hi Jochen Weber

Thanks for the detailed report and the screenshots, they made it very easy to check.

Good news: this is not a bug, everything is working as intended. On your screenshot, you are logged in as the organizer of the event. As the organizer, your own place is always free, so you see a simple registration button and the confirmation email has no price. The same applies to site admins, moderators and co-hosts.

Your members see the event exactly like in your second screenshot: the prices are shown and the button takes them straight to payment.

A tip for your tests: create a few test accounts, for example a regular member, a member with a specific tag and a visitor who is not logged in. This gives you a complete view of how everything works for each type of user.
